Thank you to LOAF for hosting Avenues’ Away Day on Saturday and to Valeria Borgia for facilitating the session.

Chair of Trustees Jennie Marshall said “Saturday was really instructive and helpful, altogether a good day, and Valeria ran it brilliantly. Next year will be an exciting time”.

Recent recruit to the Board of Trustees, Julia Court, Partner at King & Wood Mallesons, said “I thought Valeria did a great job of leading the session and it was really productive.”

The session started with a review of consultation that was carried out with members and with parents of members which was encouraging and informative.

The senior staff present made their passion for the work felt and the newer Board members, for whom this was the first Away Day, left feeling inspired and impressed.

With no more public funding or support for Youth Work, the Avenues will have to work doubly hard to keep growing its┬áservice to meet children and young people’s changing needs.
